Fiat presents the Punto Evo at the 63rd International Motor Show in Frankfurt

The concept chosen for Fiat Group Automobiles stand at the 63rd Frankfurt International Motor Show is The World I'd Like, as seen through the eyes of today's children. This strategic choice confirms the need for a forward looking manufacturer like Fiat Group Automobiles to listen to the people who will make tomorrow's world a great place to live.
The Fiat stand at Frankfurt assumes the appearance of a green city with open skies, created by large scale paintings done by children. The latest Fiat models are displayed amid the clouds, flowers, and colourful houses created by the children's imagination and by their desire for a future based on respect for the environment.

The star of the show, making its world debut, is the new Punto Evo, the evolution of the Grande Punto and the new standard-setter for innovation, safety and style. The epithet Evo identifies a level of car design that is capable of satisfying even the most demanding customers in terms of technology, driving pleasure and respect for the environment.

The Punto Evo expresses its technical excellence first and foremost through a wide choice of Euro 5 engines, including a second generation 1.3 Multijet diesel, a 1.4 MultiAir petrol engine (featuring the revolutionary technology developed by Fiat Powertrain Technologies and gradually to be incorporated in all Fiat Group engines), and a dual fuel methane and petrol engine. With reduced consumption and emissions in mind, the new Punto Evo also offers Start&Stop, the system that switches off and restarts the engine in stop-and-go traffic. Start&Stop is being introduced as standard on all Euro5 petrol and diesel engines.
Another system making its first appearance on the Punto Evo is Blue&MeTM TomTom®, the new portable satellite navigation unit that lets you manage telephone, navigation and information functions on a practical colour touch-screen. Blue&Me TomTom also integrates the innovative eco:Drive system that analyses your driving style and optimises it in terms of fuel consumption and emissions.
In the area of safety, the Punto Evo sets new standards thanks to 7 airbags, including a driver knee airbag. The Punto Evo is one of very few cars in its segment with a driver knee airbag fitted as standard on all versions. Other innovative safety systems are also available, including Hill-Holder to help with hill starts, adaptive 'cornering' front fog lights that switch on automatically with dipped headlights according to the angle of steering, and Fiat's tried and tested ABS, EBD (Electronic Brake force Distribution) and ESP (Electronic Stability Program) systems.
Finally, the new Punto Evo is even more attractive thanks to the work of Centro Stile Fiat. The interiors (fascia, seats and instrumentation) have been completely renewed, with even greater attention to detail and top quality materials. The Punto Evo features new lines on the outside too. The front and the rear have been thoroughly restyled, as shown by attractive new bumpers and the choice of innovative and original headlights and tail lights.
The Fiat Punto Evo will arrive in dealers showrooms in the second half of October, with the precise objective of consolidating its role as one of Europe's market leaders in the highly important compact segment.

In addition to the Punto Evo, the Frankfurt Motor Show will also be focusing on the 500C, the original cabriolet version of the 500 that pays homage to the 1957 soft-top but comes packed with advanced solutions in build, engines and passenger comfort. Using a typical open-source approach (i.e. continually evolving a successful product on the basis of contributions from its users), Centro Stile Fiat created the 500C by interacting with the many communities of Cinquecento enthusiasts and first and foremost with the community of the 500 Wants You website (www.fiat500.com
. The 500C is therefore very much "a car for the people, by the people".
To coincide with the Frankfurt Motor Show the website will be introducing C MYSTERY, a great new multimedia narrative game dedicated to the 500C. C MYSTERY is not just a game but also a story, a blog and a journey through the web's social networks. The game presents a series of intriguing clues and sets unusual tests that you can try on your PC and with your friends in the real world, to win a brand new 500C.
In short, as an expression of Italy's finest automotive design, the 500 is not merely a super-compact city car, but a real platform upon which Fiat Automobiles is building a whole family of cars with advanced technology and superb attention to detail. The 500C has evidently struck chord with the public. Presented in July, it has already attracted 13,000 orders, repeating the success of the 500 on all markets where it has been introduced.

Frankfurt's spotlights will also be focusing on the Qubo Trekking, the latest version of Fiat's free space vehicle for nature lovers, outdoor sports and leisure enthusiasts, now equipped with Traction +. Traction + is an innovative electronic system that improves traction and grip to help you out of difficult situations and let you negotiate even the most challenging surfaces (snow, mud, etc.).

Finally, visitors to the Fiat stand will also be able to see the latest Fiat Sedici, the most ecological of all Euro5 SUVs thanks to two new engines a 120 HP, 16 valve petrol engine and a 135 HP, 16 valve 2.0 Multijet diesel that produces only 129 g of CO2 per kilometre. The new Sedici is the ideal choice for the environmentally aware customer seeking a compact SUV that is capable of tackling off-road routes and is also practical to drive around town.

The Fiat cars on show in Frankfurt represent a major step in the direction of sustainable mobility. It is no coincidence that the Fiat range is the most ecological of Europe's ten best-selling automotive brands with the lowest average value for CO2 emissions for the second year running only 133.7 g/km for vehicles sold in 2008 (the figure was only 137.3 g/km for vehicles sold in 2007).
